Jessen Mukalel, MD

 
Jessen Mukalel, MD, is a pain management doctor providing ketamine infusion therapy to patients at InfusionMD. At his practice in The Woodlands, Texas, Dr. Mukalel is an advocate for opioid-free pain management. By specializing in a specific range of treatment offerings, he has discovered that he can provide close to, if not 100% pain relief, without relying on steroids or pain medications. Dr. Mukalel began his medical training in Hungary, Europe, and finished in the Netherlands Antilles Islands in 2006. He started with surgical training and eventually transitioned to specializing in Anesthesia in Chicago, Illinois. From there, he completed an acute pain management and regional anesthesia fellowship in Pittsburgh and later became a fellowship director in the same field at the University of Texas.

He was then named the director of Pain Management and Obstetrical Anesthesia at Bayfront Medical Center in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. From there, he completed his second pain management fellowship, in Chronic Interventional Pain in Clearwater, Florida, at the Florida Spine Institute. Following his second fellowship, he opened his own practice in Tampa, Florida, and eventually one in The Woodlands, Texas.

Dr. Mukalel credits his mentors in guiding his care philosophies and constant need for learning. His greatest teachers, however, have been his patients. Dr. Mukalel believes that as patients, you should always pursue nonsurgical options to treat your pain.
